Computer Vision Applied to Recognition Barcodes
نویسندگان
چکیده
The bar code is one of the identification technologies used more successfully in the world. This technology was first developed as the second half of the twentieth century and quickly achieved acceptance in both industry and commerce. In this paper studies are discussed on the design, development and printing of one-dimensional barcodes of the symbologies Code 39 and Interleaved 2 of 5. There are also discussed techniques for recovering the information encoded in the bar code, which can be extended to other symbologies. The purpose of the paper is the development of an open solution with the objective to make the decoding of barcodes using computer vision techniques possible, which will be divided into four basic stages: acquisition, pre-processing, processing and presentation of results. Practical tests conducted with samples show satisfactory results, validating the operating principles of the elements involved. The proposed objective was achieved and practical tests validated the operating principles of the elements addressed by providing contribution to that segment decoding barcodes.

With the rapid emergence of 3D applications and virtual environments in computer systems; the need for a new type of interaction device arises. This is because the traditional devices such as mouse, keyboard, and joystick become inefficient and cumbersome within these virtual environments. In other words, evolution of user interfaces shapes the change in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In...

متن کامل3D Hand Motion Evaluation Using HMM
Gesture and motion recognition are needed for a variety of applications. The use of human hand motions as a natural interface tool has motivated researchers to conduct research in the modeling, analysis and recognition of various hand movements. In particular, human-computer intelligent interaction has been a focus of research in vision-based gesture recognition. In this work, we introduce a 3-...
متن کامل2D Color Barcodes for Mobile Phones
We propose a new high capacity color barcode, named HCC2D (High Capacity Colored 2-Dimensional), which use colors to increase the barcode data density. The introduction and recognition of colored modules poses some new and non-trivial computer vision challenges, such as handling the color distortions introduced by the hardware equipment that realizes the Print&Scan process. We developed a proto...
متن کاملBarcodes: the Persistent Topology of Data
This article surveys recent work of Carlsson and collaborators on applications of computational algebraic topology to problems of feature detection and shape recognition in high-dimensional data. The primary mathematical tool considered is a homology theory for point-cloud data sets—persistent homology—and a novel representation of this algebraic characterization— barcodes. We sketch an applica...
